Out and About in South Florida

The Brightline team is hard at work as we gear up to launch service later this year. From testing the trains, to finishing station construction, to educating local communities about rail safety, our team members are out and about in South Florida … so we wanted to take a moment to briefly update you on our progress.

Have you seen a Brightline train on the Florida East Coast Railway? BrightGreen, BrightBlue, BrightPink and BrightOrange have been testing throughout the corridor from West Palm Beach to Miami. We encourage you to snap a picture of the trains and share your enthusiasm, but please BE SAFE—stay on the sidewalk and do not step onto the railroad. PS: BrightRed, our last trainset to trek across America to Workshop b, will be making its way over from California soon—stay tuned!

Safety is Brightline’s top priority, and we have been focused on talking with community members about how to stay safe around an active railroad. Earlier this year we announced our partnership with Operation Lifesaver, a national nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about rail safety. (Learn more here.) So, if you see any Brightline team members at community events talking about this important initiative, please say hi!

With more than 40 employee volunteers, we’re always looking for new opportunities to spread the word. Let us know if you (or any of your community, school, business groups, etc.!) have interest in learning more—safety@gobrightline.com.

We’re putting the finishing touches on our stations in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Soon, Brightline teammates will start the training process at these stations as we get ready to welcome guests.

Construction on MiamiCentral is progressing. Almost half of the 18, 70-foot signature ‘V’ columns are either completed or in formation, and more than 700 people are on site each day working on the construction. And in between the stations, we’re still working on the railroad improvements.

The Brightline team looks forward to welcoming you on board later this year. We will be back in touch with future updates and more information about our launch.  As always, a huge thank you to our enthusiastic supporters and future guests. Get ready—the way we travel is about to get brighter!
