Today we are celebrating the arrival of two new trainsets, BrightGreen and BrightOrange, to Workshop b in West Palm Beach. This marks the first time that we’ve taken delivery of two trains at once — the newly completed trainsets travelled in tandem from Siemens Rolling Stock in Sacramento to their new home in Florida.
BrightGreen and BrightOrange’s arrival coincided with National Train Day, celebrated the second Saturday of May (May 13), marking the completion of the first transcontinental railroad in the United States. With the two Brightline trains totaling nearly 1,000 feet in length, each foot symbolizes the 1,000 Siemens employees who were involved in the building of the sets, manufactured with more than 40 different U.S. suppliers across 20 states. BrightGreen and BrightOrange now join BrightBlue and BrightPink at Workshop b, the 12-acre railroad operations facility in West Palm Beach.
“It is exciting to welcome BrightGreen and BrightOrange to Workshop b, coinciding with National Train Day, a chance to celebrate these powerful machines and the rich history the passenger rail industry has played in our country,” said Dave Howard, CEO of Brightline. “Brightline is a shining example of U.S. manufacturing, innovation and the future of transportation in the United States.”
