Since trains are big, they may appear to be traveling slower and much farther away. It can take a mile or more for a train to stop in an emergency. So, get on board with rail safety and use caution around railroad tracks.
The latest on Brightline’s safety efforts

Brightline and The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast unveiled the new Brightline Trains safety exhibit, a hands-on-learning experience for kids and families focused on the importance of rail safety.
Brightline, launched a new rail safety campaign and safety public service announcement (PSA) building on the company’s current initiatives involving education, engineering and enforcement. The new PSA and campaign reminds residents that their decisions around the tracks will impact others in our community and emphasizes the point: “stopping a bad decision is easy, stopping a train isn’t. Be safe and stay off the tracks.”
Brightline, the only provider of modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail in America, partnered with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Miami-Dade Police Department, to launch a tri-county enforcement effort for National Rail Safety Week – a first for the tri-county enforcement agencies. During the week-long enforcement effort, the law enforcement agencies issued more than 2,000 citations.
Brightline and a bipartisan coalition of congressional officials announced a grant award of $25 million from the United States Department of Transportation’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), in partnership with Brightline, was awarded the grant to enhance safety along the Florida East Coast Railway/Brightline corridor between Miami-Dade and Brevard counties. The award, combined with up to $20 million in matching funds from FDOT and Brightline, will result in a $45 million investment.
